SUMMARY:

The Service Advisor must be familiar with all aspects of lawn care including its applications and have knowledge of the products that are used during each application. The service advisor is responsible for correctly analyzing and diagnosing problems arising from disease, insects, improper care, etc. Completing lawn analysis consisting of measuring the turf areas, identifying lawn problems, pricing, and presenting to the customer will be required occasionally. The service advisor will build a calling campaign based on annual sales planning, by developing queries of customer groups and uploading them into the company dialer software. The Service Advisor will occasionally be called to the lawn to service in between applications when issues arise. They may also be asked to fill in for a Technician when workloads demand, or when the production team needs assistance. This position is our customers' front-line contact, and communication between the customer and production is critical.

 

The service advisor must be able to work with minimal supervision and conduct all work in a safe and professional manner per company systems & processes. The service advisor must learn and become thoroughly familiar with all aspects of lawn care. This includes but is not limited to safe handling, proper mixing, transportation, and proper application of materials. Proper operation and general maintenance of all equipment. Interact with customers while maintaining a professional demeanor. Obtain knowledge of applications and products used, understand and be able to explain their use. Correctly analyze, diagnose, and treat problems arising from disease, insects, improper care, etc. Complete assigned daily work, associated paperwork, and administrative requirements related to the position.

 

The service advisor must be physically able to perform the following: Sitting for prolonged periods. Speaking to prospective customers as well as existing customers about lawn conditions and the services we provide. Frequently stand, walk, crouch, and kneel on narrow, slippery, sloped, or uneven landscape surfaces and/or terrain. Able to bend to pick up or move objects. Walk for long distances on these surfaces. (Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable an individual with disabilities to perform the functions of the position on a case-by-case basis.)

 

REQUIREMENTS:

Requirements for this position include:

·       Support Weed Man’s aim by following company systems and processes

·       Contribute to the development and implementation of company systems and processes

·       Reliable transportation

·       Valid driver’s license with 3+ years clean driving record

·       Have a clean criminal record 

·       Minimum of a high school diploma or GED 

·       Legal documentation to verify employment eligibility 

·       Clear verbal and legible, written communication skills

·       Basic knowledge of computer operation

·       Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds

·       Ability to work in various weather conditions

·       May work 50+ hours per week and some Saturdays during peak seasons

·       Adhere to company policies which can be found in the employee handbook (i.e., drug, alcohol, tobacco, cell phone, attendance, etc.) 

·       Self-motivated and will initiate action when needed

·       Requires minimum supervision, but knows when to ask for assistance

·       Accepts feedback from fellow team members 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following:

·       Project a professional appearance per employee handbook (ex: shirt always tucked in)

·       Able to correctly analyze, diagnose, and treat issues relating to fertilization, insect, pest and weed control issues 

·       Be appropriately certified and licensed by local, state, and federal agencies 

·       Able to demonstrate technical knowledge including but not limited to plant ID, turf ID, insect and disease ID and diagnosis, equipment calibration, cultural practices and schedules, pesticide, and chemical application. 

·       Organizational skills to manage daily activities, coordinate equipment & materials needed. 

·       Correctly measure, present, and sell lawn inspections on site

·       Follow up with leads in a timely manner

·       Respectfully educate customers on recommended services and help them understand their benefits.

·       Assist in completing production routes when the need arises.

·       Safely operate company equipment: trucks, backpack sprayers, hose reels, spreaders, motorized equipment, etc. 

·       Perform all daily preventative maintenance (PM) on company equipment 

·       Follow company policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook and/or other company documents

·       Build solid relationship between sales, admin, and production

·       Able to read maps and follow directions  

·       Follow safety standards pertaining to job responsibilities 

·       Follow processes always keeping a clean vehicle 

·       Able to fill out and process all necessary job paperwork, invoices, lead sheets, sales statistical information sheets, daily production reports, etc. 

·       Consistently record daily in and out times through the time clock 

·       Complete assigned route (assigned daily work)

·       Door knocking, as needed

·       Tag equipment for repairs needed and inform direct supervisor 

·       Ensures all accidents/incidents are properly documented and reported immediately
